Newcastle Hazara Community Incorporated, in partnership with TAFE NSW, is proud to deliver the English for Safe Food Handling and Starting a Food Stall Program for migrants and refugees in the Newcastle region.

This free community program is designed to help participants improve their English communication skills while gaining practical knowledge about food safety, food handling, and the requirements for operating a food stall in Australia. Participants will learn essential food hygiene practices, safe food storage and preparation, customer service communication, and the basic regulations required for community events and food markets. Safe food handling skills are essential for anyone interested in hospitality, catering, community fundraising, or operating a temporary food stall.

The program provides a supportive learning environment where participants can build confidence, develop employment and business-related skills, and connect with their local community. Through collaboration between Newcastle Hazara Community Incorporated and TAFE NSW, the program aims to increase social inclusion, economic participation, and pathways to further education and employment.
